B.C. disability assistance: how much work income you have left this year
In B.C., you can earn up to an annual limit before disability assistance is reduced (Annual Earnings Exemption, or AEE). Enter what you have earned so far this year to see how much earning room you have left, when B.C. may send a warning letter at 75% of your limit, and a rough estimate if you go over the limit. B.C. uses a calendar-year limit, not a month-by-month exemption.
Estimate only. You report income each month to B.C. (form HR0081). If you started assistance mid-year, your limit may be adjusted. This tool simplifies that. Cheque timing may differ. Confirm with the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
Count wages and other employment income from January 1 through today. B.C. resets the limit every calendar year. Last year's earnings do not carry over.
Used for optional proration and projected year-end earnings. Full-year limits apply unless you turn on mid-year adjustment below.
Leave blank to see only what's left based on earnings so far. Enter an amount to guess year-end totals and how much assistance might be reduced if you go over.
